Getting Discovered as a New Brand on the Internet

Starting Pynch Kitchen, a brand for innovative kitchen gadgets, has been an exciting journey from my previous role as a Product Manager on Google Search. Transitioning to building my brand has highlighted the challenges and opportunities in brand discoverability.

The Discoverability Challenge

Launching a new brand today is tough, especially against established websites. Despite creating a Shopify website and a blog to leverage SEO, organic traffic was limited. However, Instagram proved to be a game-changer, quickly generating thousands of views and significant engagement. (Follow us @pynch.kitchen)

The Power of Social Media

Social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok are designed to engage users. Content that resonates can rapidly gain traction, making these platforms ideal for new creators. For Pynch Kitchen, this meant increased visibility and engagement without the lengthy buildup required for web SEO.

A Balanced Approach

While social media offers immediate reach, maintaining a strong online presence requires a balanced strategy:

  1. Social Media Focus:
    • Instagram and TikTok: Consistently creating engaging content and leveraging trends.
    • Engagement: Responding to comments and collaborating with influencers.
  2. SEO and Web Content:
    • Blog Posts: Writing keyword-rich posts about kitchen accessories, kitchen gadgets, and simple cooking.
    • Product Pages: Optimizing descriptions with relevant keywords for better search rankings.

Looking Ahead

For Pynch Kitchen, a strategic mix of social media engagement and targeted SEO efforts is crucial for organic growth. While social media provides immediate visibility, SEO ensures long-term discoverability and credibility.
